Week 28: Into The Wild – Getting Lost On Purpose

My favourite workout. Period.

The one where you truly feel as a part of nature. The one where you wander to the point of getting lost. Then question your ethos and purpose for such efforts… The spartan way. Then you push some more and it results in something what others describe as liberating, spiritual experience.

Pure adrenaline and endorphin ridden runs:


As you can see this is a tempo run in the middle of the woods – miles away from other living beings. What I love to do is to run with no tracking, marks etc. Then head some more and finally when the going gets tougher – start counting the miles back.

If you are like me – a city person, this can transform the way you run and train forever. Especially if done in untouched wilderness.
